We try to hold a series of social events for members and their friends through the year. The idea is to give members a chance to meet each other and enjoy themselves, without the whole-day commitment involved in most of the outings. We hold some of them in the evenings to make them more accessible for people who can't get to our daytime events. Booking forms for all events are in the latest Newsletter, or you can ask the Publicity Secretary to email you a booking form. Unlike our outings, transport isn't provided unless stated. Thursday 29 October 6pm Stoborough Village Hall

We’ll gather at Stoborough Village hall at 6pm. The popular ‘Surf and Turf’ Fish & Chip van will start serving our orders at 6.15. You can choose in advance from cod or haddock*, with vegetarian options of sausages or a burger. These are on the booking form. *There is a £1 supplement for haddock - see booking form. We’ll be serving free tea, coffee and fruit juice to go with the food, but feel free to bring your own drinks along if you prefer. Remember to bring a bottle opener and/or corkscrew if you’ll need one. We’ll also have all the usual condiments on the tables Once we’ve eaten we’ll have a hectic few rounds with the dice, creating our beetles. There will be a small prize for the highest scorer, providing we don’t identify any cheating. We’ll aim to finish around 8.30 to 9pm Use the booking form that came with the Autumn Newsletter. C ome along! Have some fun. No experience is necessary.Unlike traditional curling stones, the ones we'll use are made of heavy rubber and run on stainless steel bearings allowing the game to be played on any smooth floor. Friday 19 March 12.30 for 1pm Isle of Purbeck Golf Club

Once again we'll return to the Isle of Purbeck Golf Club, for what has become an annual fixture in our calendar. If we're lucky we'll have a fine day to enjoy the spectacular views across Studland and Poole Harbour. Choose from two or three courses.
